Irving Park Kitchen Renovation

Originally this project began as a "facelift" but it was apparent in the early stages cosmetic changes only would not solve the appliance proximity or the lack of usable counter top.  Slight change of plans lead to this beautifully functional and lovely kitchen renovation.  We removed the second prep sink which was not necessary in this case and replaced it with the new 36" gas Wolf cook top with retractable downdraft.  The large stainless steel Kohler sink, 42" GE Monogram side by side cabinet depth refrigerator and gas cook top are now within steps of each other.  The island which housed the cook top and downdraft previously, now possesses deep drawers for pots and pans as well as other vital utensils from all four sides.  The Thermador microwave and wall oven flank the opposite wall with plenty of counter top space all around.  The peninsula seats 4-5 comfortably at bar height out of the way from the main sink space.  Our homeowners were more than pleased with their new kitchen layout.  Light gray perimeter cabinets and a custom Villa black finish for the island were chosen from Fieldstone Cabinetry.  Perimeter counter is Black Pearl Granite to compliment the black and white basket weave marble back splash while the bar and island counters are gray and white engineered quartz by LG Viatera Rococo.
